Marine is First to Receive Experimental Prosthetic Control System

Marine Staff Sgt. James Sides lost his hand to an IED in Afghanistan. He is the first person to try out the new implantable myoelectrical system, or IMES, to control his prosthetic arm. Sensors are implanted in his arm and emply the existing muscles.
