Flag officer assignments announced

Senior Navy leaders announced the following flag officer assignments Thursday:

Two-star assignments

Rear Adm. Terry B. Kraft will be assigned as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Japan/commander, Navy Region Japan, Yokosuka, Japan. Kraft is serving as commander, Navy Warfare Development Command, Norfolk, Va.

One-star assignments

Rear Adm. Michael E. Jabaley Jr. will be assigned as deputy commander for undersea warfare, SEA-07, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington. Jabaley is serving as vice commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington.

Rear Adm. Willie L. Metts will be assigned as director for intelligence, J2, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. Metts is serving as deputy chief, tailored access operations, S32, National Security Agency, Fort Mead, Md.

Rear Adm. Stuart B. Munsch will be assigned as commander, Submarine Group Seven/commander, Task Force Seven Four/commander, Task Force Five Four, Yokosuka, Japan. Munsch is serving as deputy director, Submarine Warfare Division, N97B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington.

Rear Adm. Fernandez L. Ponds will be assigned as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Three, San Diego, Calif. Ponds is serving as commander, Navy Region Hawaii/commander, Naval Surface Group, MIDPAC, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Rear Adm. Charles A. Richard will be assigned as commander, Submarine Group Ten, Kings Bay, Ga. Richard is serving as deputy commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.

Rear Adm. Hugh D. Wetherald will be assigned as commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Seven/commander, Amphibious Force, U.S. Seventh Fleet, Okinawa, Japan. Wetherald is serving as deputy chief of staff for plans, policies and requirements, N5/N8, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Capt. Brian K. Antonio, selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be the program executive officer for Littoral Combat Ships, Washington. Antonio is serving as deputy chief of staff for fleet maintenance, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Capt. Robert P. Burke, selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be director of plans and operations, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/deputy commander, Sixth Fleet/commander submarines, Allied Naval Forces South/commander, Submarine Group Eight, Naples, Italy. Burke is serving as director, joint and fleet operations, N3/N5, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.

Capt. Luther B. Fuller III, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be the deputy commander for ship design, integration and engineering, SEA-05, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington. Fuller is serving as commander, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, N.H.

Capt. Andrew L. Lewis, selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be the new commander, Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Fallon, Nev. Lewis is serving as director fleet and joint training (N7), U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.

Capt. Bret J. Muilenburg, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be the commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Muilenburg is serving as senior engineer assistant to commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet Engineer, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
