Here are some ideas for fun this weekend that won’t crush your budget:

Kings Dominion, an amusement park in Doswell, Va., is offering free admission to those with a military ID — active, Guard, reserve and retired members, May 25-27. Admission at the gate is normally $61.99. Reduced admission is available for up to six dependents, according to spokesman Gene Petriello. Discount tickets can be purchased at morale, welfare and recreation offices on installations, and at the gate. Reduced-price tickets at the gate are $38.99.

Shoney’s is offering a free All-American Burger to veterans and active-duty service members on Monday at participating restaurants while supplies last. The free burger is for dine-in customers only, and there’s a limit of one per troop. Drink, tax and tip are not included. Be prepared to provide proof of your military service. Shoney’s restaurants are located in 17 states from Texas to Ohio, Maryland and Florida, mostly in the southeast.
