Advancement opportunity for chiefs has risen yet again, marking the highest chance to move up in eight years.
There are about 4,600 advancement quotas for the fiscal 2014 board, the Navy announced Wednesday. Advancement opportunity is at about 27 percent, up from about 24 percent in fiscal 2013.
The board convened Monday. It will consider 17,400 eligible petty officers first class, the Navy reported.
The big winner for the upcoming board looks to be gas turbine system technician (electrical), with 100 percent advancement opportunity.
The lowest opportunity was for engineering aide, with one quota and only a 3.35 percent opportunity. Read all the current (Cycle 218) quotas, and those from previous advancement cycles, here.
