Authorities say a cheerleader for the NFLís Arizona Cardinals who served in the Army in Iraq is accused of assaulting her boyfriend.

Scottsdale police said 29-year-old Megan Welter was arrested July 20 on charges of disorderly conduct, alleged assault and criminal damage.

Welter told police she and her boyfriend went to a Scottsdale bar to celebrate her birthday. The couple had been dating for six months.

Welter said the couple later argued over past relationships. A police report said Welter hit, scratched and pulled the hair of her unidentified boyfriend.

KPHO-TV reports that the boyfriend recorded some of the incident on his cell phone.

Authorities didnít immediately know if Welter had an attorney.

Welter entered officer training school in 2007 and served a 16-month tour in Iraq.
