TAMPA, FLA. — An Air Force K-9 is recovering after suffering from heatstroke at MacDill Air Force Base.
BluePearl Veterinary Partners reports that doctors and technicians were treating a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois named Eddie after he was brought in seizing with signs of heatstroke.
In May of 2012, Eddie saved the life of his handler, Air Force Staff Sgt. Shannon Hutto, and the lives of thirteen other service members, when he detected an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Afghanistan.
Eddie is expected to make a full recovery.
