The Army plans 647 Regular Army promotions to the ranks of captain through colonel in December, and 20 advancements to major for Army Reserve members of the Active Guard and Reserve.
The RA promotion plan includes 52 advancements to colonel in the Army Competitive Category, which will complete the fiscal 2012 lists for Maneuver, Fires and Effects, Operations Support, and Force Sustainment.
The 2013 lists, which together total 574 names, were released in August and are available for January promotions.
The December promotion plan also authorizes 130 Army Competitive Category advancements to lieutenant colonel, 124 to major, 191 to captain and 105 to the chief warrant officer grades, including six to CW5, 32 to CW4 and 67 to CW3.
December promotions for the RA special branches include 18 advancements to lieutenant colonel for the Medical Service Corps, seven and six to major for the Judge Advocate General’s Corps and Chaplain Corps, respectively; and seven and five each to captain for the Medical Service Corps and Nurse Corps.
