An instructor pilot at the Air Force Academy was convicted at court-martial Nov. 15 of drunken driving, reckless driving and lying to police about how much alcohol he had consumed.

Maj. Dennis Nita, who is assigned to the 557th Flying Training Squadron, will be restricted to home and work for two months, will receive a reprimand and must forfeit $2,000 in pay per month for a year.

Academy spokesman Meade Warthen said Nita currently is not serving as an instructor pilot and is performing nonflying duties.
