Army announces new assignments for generals

The Army announced today new assignments for several general officers:

■ Maj. Gen. Harold J. Greene, deputy for acquisition and systems management, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology), Washington, D.C., to deputy commanding general, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan.

■ Maj. Gen. Christopher K. Haas, deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C., to director, force management and development, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

■ Brig. Gen. John W. Baker, director, J-6, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., to commanding general, 7th Signal Command (Theater), Fort Gordon, Ga.

■ Brig. Gen. James H. Dickinson, commanding general, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas, to deputy to the inspector general, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C.

■ Brig. Gen. Malcolm B. Frost, deputy director for operations, National Joint Operations Intelligence Center, Operations Team Four, J-3, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C., to deputy commanding general, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

■ Brig. Gen. Donald G. Fryc, commandant, U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery School, U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence, Fort Sill, Okla., to commanding general, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas.

■ Brig. Gen. William K. Gayler, deputy commanding general, 7th Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., to director, Officer Personnel Management Directorate, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Ky.

■ Brig. Gen. Brian J. McKiernan, deputy commanding general (support), 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C., to deputy commanding general (operations), Eighth U.S. Army, Republic of Korea.

■ Brig. Gen. John B. Morrison, Jr., commanding general, 7th Signal Command (Theater), Fort Gordon, Ga., to commanding general, U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.

■ Col. Kurt L. Sonntag, who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general, commander, Inter-Agency Military Advisory Detachment, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C., to deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.
