FORT CARSON, COLO. — Fort Carson says the commander of one of its brigades has been temporarily relieved of duty during an investigation into allegations of unspecified violations of Army policy.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reported Wednesday the investigation into Col. Brian Pearl comes as the 4th Brigade Combat Team prepares to deploy to Afghanistan.
The brigade is part of the 4th Infantry Division based at Fort Carson outside Colorado Springs.
Fort Carson confirmed the investigation but said no information would be released until the investigation is over.
It was unclear if Pearl would join the brigade in Afghanistan if he is cleared.
Last year, Col. John McGrath, commander of Fort Carsonís hospital, was removed from his duties after an investigation accused him of making inappropriate comments and sexual innuendos to staff.
