Shooters from around the world will compete in the 2014 U.S. Army Special Operations Command International Sniper Competition beginning Monday.

The competition, designed to challenge the best snipers from special operations units, federal and state law enforcement agencies, and foreign partners, will run Monday through Thursday at Fort Bragg, N.C. It will be hosted by the Army Special Forces Sniper Course.

Two-man sniper teams competing in 19 events will be challenged in multiple aspects of sniper operations in both day and night conditions. The events will pit the snipers against time, distance and unknown circumstances. The snipers also will face tactical challenges while moving through an urban environment and while engaging targets from 25 to 1,000 meters. Competitors also will be tested on their ability to communicate with their partner and shoot accurately while racing the clock.
