MINOT, N.D. — Minot Air Force Base officials say they detained a man who entered the northern North Dakota military installation without authorization.
The Air Force says in a statement that the person entered the base Thursday morning. Officials say no threat to the base was found.
Base public affairs officials tell KXMC-TV that the man drove in through the main gate without getting cleared by security forces, setting off a basewide search about 8 a.m.
Officials say the man was found about an hour later, unarmed and not hostile, and was given a “proper escort.”
