Military veterans from all branches who will be in and around the Annapolis, Maryland, area over the holidays can catch some complimentary college football on Dec. 27 thanks to ticket donations from the schools participating in this year's Military Bowl.

The contest, presented by Northrop Grumman, kicks off at the Naval Academy's Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 3:30 p.m. and features Wake Forest facing No. 23 Temple, the reigning American Athletic Conference champion. Veterans can email usomilitarybowl2016@gmail.com with their full name, contact information and ticket request -- up to six tickets will be available per veteran, bowl officials said in a news release. Veterans approved for tickets will receive a voucher, which they can redeem at the USO tent outside the stadium on game day.

The bowl's website offers information on parking availability, pre-game festivities (including a parade) and other events surrounding the contest.

The game will be Temple's second visit to the academy this month, having defeated Navy 34-10 on Dec. 3 in Annapolis to claim the AAC crown. The Owls (10-3) will face the Demon Deacons (6-6), who won their first four games before dropping five of their last six, including a loss at Army West Point. Army also beat Temple, 28-13, to start the 2016 season.

"It is apparent that both of these universities and their teams believe in the Bowl's mission to honor and support our nation's Armed Forces," Steve Beck, Military Bowl president and executive director, said in the release. "We are excited that this very generous gesture will allow more veterans to enjoy the game."
