Head over to your commissary starting Friday to get your free reusable shopping bag aimed at reminding you of the benefits of Military OneSource.

The giveaway, with bags available while supplies last, is a joint effort between the office of Military Community and Family Policy and the Defense Commissary Agency to raise awareness of the resources that are available 24 hours a day through the call center at 800-342-9647 and online at www.MilitaryOneSource.mil

November is Military Family Month, a good time to remind families what the Defense Department-funded MilitaryOneSource offers: Services including nonmedical confidential counseling and specialty consultations, spouse education and career counseling, language interpretation services, information on permanent change-of-station moves, child care resources, financial guidance and more.

All the counseling, consultations, information and other services are available to active, Guard and reserve service members (regardless of activation status), their immediate family and survivors worldwide. The website doesn't require DoD credentials, allowing retirees, veterans and family members to learn more about available services.

"In the same way that this reusable bag assists in your commissary or other daily shopping, Military OneSource is there to assist you with confidential help and useful resources. I am confident everyone knows about Military OneSource, but do they really know about Military OneSource?" said Ed Brown, Military OneSource program director, in a release announcing the giveaway.
