Ken Perrotte is an award-winning writer/photographer/editor with decades of experience and thousands of published articles and photographs in more than a dozen national and regional publications. An Air Force veteran and former Department of Defense civilian employee who served in a variety of staff leadership positions ranging from installation to defense agency levels, experiencing and writing about the outdoors has been his passion since he was a child. He has been a principal outdoors content contributor to the Military Times Media Group and its predecessors for more than 15 years. In addition, he has written the outdoors column in the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star (Fredericksburg.com) daily newspaper since 1997. Ken is also the Conservation Field Editor for the National Wild Turkey Federation and Turkey Country magazine. He is also a regular contributor to Virginia Wildlife magazine, for which he and his wife Maria have been creating delectable wild game and fish recipes for the last decade. Ken belongs to the Professional Outdoors Media Association, the Association of Great Lakes Outdoors Writers, and the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association, serving on that group’s board of directors for three terms.
