Marc - Right after I had the conversation with the elderly man on the plane, I sat in my seat. The fellow next to me leaned over and said that he had served in Vietnam and was paying for himself and three buddies to go back to Vietnam to heal old wounds.

I remember having the distinct feeling that I was surrounded by heroes.

Your dad and you remind me of that pair, and I have the same feeling I had then - you heroes are all around us.

Thanks for your service!

Jeff, I thank the Lord that I never had to go through battle like that. I was at Da Nang for a year ('69-'70) and went through some scary moments, but survived.

My wife's Dad was there just after the bulge broke and he was there for a couple years. He left home with a full head of hair and returned totally bald. He had a lot of tales to tell.
