“It’s a blessing.”

Sometimes it takes fresh eyes to see what others overlook. On March 4th, 251 servicemen and women were sworn in as American citizens. But the oath of citizenship wasn’t conducted in the United States. Instead, it was held where they serve – in Iraq – the 13th such naturalization ceremony held since the beginning of the war. Read, “Troops Earn U.S. Citizenship in Iraq“, and take note of the statements by some of our newest brothers and sisters. They come from 65 different countries, but they already understand what it means to be an American.
