Matthew Cox covers soldier equipment, uniforms, weapons, infantry issues, training and deployments for Army Times. He joined the Gannett newsweekly in December 1998 after working for several years at local newspapers in Virginia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va. Prior to college, he served four years active duty in the Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division’s 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, at Fort Bragg, NC. As a reporter, Cox has embedded with American troops in Kosovo, the Philippines, Afghanistan and Iraq.

 

Rob Curtis has been a staffer at the Army Times Publishing Company since 1998. His major assignments over the years have brought him to Haiti, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. He has traveled to more than 30 countries since beginning his career as a photojournalist. He is a graduate of Boston University and can be reached at rmcurtis@verizon.net.
