Boots backlash
Utterly pointless. The uniform should not require this degree of micro-management. We’ve got classic black, tan suede and green suede, and not enough of any of the three to shoe the entire force. Pick one that’s useful (I like tan) and stick with it. Save some dough.

What I don’t understand is why the AF is wasting time and resources on “reinventing the wheel.” The tan boots have been around for a couple of decades, and have already been proven to be effective, not to mention that they are more readily available, so why is the AF trying to waste money creating a similar-yet-less-effective boot?

Green savings?
The solar [power] system according to the article cost $100 million. The Air Force will be saving $1 million. At that rate it will take 100 years to see a return on the investment. Did I miss something? This sounds like a terrible investment for the economic times that we are facing. No private company or homeowner would invest in solar with that poor of a return.

CMSAF’s top priority
It sure would be nice to get a little “straight talk” from those in leadership positions. None of this vague talk around crap that comes out all the time. I’m a professional, I’m an adult, and as such treat me that way. Tell me straight how things are now, where they are going, and what I can expect. Don’t blow smoke.

I would like to see the chief overhaul our PME system. Too much focus on being a social worker, not being a leader.
