DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL
Glad I’m retired. [Gays] have no place in the armed forces.

[“Don’t ask, don’t tell”] is a flawed and immoral policy and I am glad it will be coming to an end soon.

When I was deployed to the [Combined Air and Space Operations Center] a few years ago, my supervisor was a RAF officer who was openly gay. Someone forgot to inform us about the chaos that should have been had, because we were professionals and executed the mission as if his sexual orientation had zero bearing on the mission. It sounds crazy, I know, but these things really happened.

The accommodations situation is never NOT going to be a factor. When I was in Kirkuk in 2006, for example, I spent four months being required to shower in public view of other men, and I shared a room with three other guys. If the service opens to homosexuals and nothing changes in the accommodations department, I am not OK with this. I know I’m not alone in this opinion.

MOSELEY PUNISHMENT
With all due respect: Gen. (Ret.) Moseley needs to quit his pathetic and self-aggrandizing defense of his wrongdoing and man up. He should take the very, very light punishment (which involves zero reduction in his very generous retired pay) and go quietly into the night.

It is somewhat disturbing that a letter of admonishment was the only outcome of what would have most certainly been a bad conduct discharge with fine and perhaps even jail time for any NCO or SNCO who committed the same offense.
