DEPLOYMENT TEMPO
If/when this gets implemented, I cannot wait to see the retention rates plummet harder than the economy last year. Or watch divorce rates rocket faster than the unemployment mark. There is no way you can justify to a family man that in the next 30 months he will see his family only four to six months. If that. I for one won’t [do it]. I’ll take the red eye out of here.

To be 100 percent honest, I’d rather spend a year in prison for disobeying a direct order to deploy for one year, come home for six months, then leave again for another year. At least my family could visit me on the weekends. And once my “debt to society” was fulfilled, my family and I could move on.

MINOT FIRINGS
My concern is that the Air Force will not address the underlying problem and act to rectify it. Namely, a lack of personnel, monetary support and dedication to providing training for those involved in the nuclear enterprise. There simply are not enough people, dollars or support to train and produce the kind of product the USAF is looking for right now.

I have been at Minot [Air Force Base, N.D.] for 10 years total. There is no problem here. Basically it’s just that [stuff] happens.

SEAT CUSHIONS
I know this is serious, and I’m sure it will be very helpful, but I can’t help myself. I get this mental image of Fighter Pilot Dan, pulling a high-G turn in his F-16 — when “BAM” his seat cushion blows. Does it come with a music option while it massages the buttocks?
