2 ships deemed ‘unfit’ for combat

Does it really take a rocket scientist to figure out what went wrong? Not enough crew to service the ship, 18-hour days, long watches, not enough technical training. Yard periods so short that major repairs must be done over multiple repair periods; this means the contractor doing the work may not do it the next yard period. The Navy demanding more from the senior enlisted. The officers not learning anything about leadership anymore, just how to stand watch. I love our Navy, but I can’t stand the incompetence.

Bill to ban pornography on military bases

We are out here fighting for freedoms, while [we] military members are losing our liberties and freedoms. How often are the politicians walking patrols in Iraq, not protected by armored vehicles? Let them get shot at a few times. Keep them there for months on end [with] no way to relieve stress. Let the politicians do that for a while to really get a feel for the troops and their morale.
