Have questions about your education benefits? Need help choosing a school? Or just want to talk to an education counselor – now?
The Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support, better known as DANTES, is providing these resources straight to your cell phone with a new mobile app. MyVolEdPath, released Monday, includes interactive, customized tools to help service members navigate their education options, as well as real-time support via chat.
The app is aimed at increasing service members' awareness and access to educational opportunities, Jeff Allen, director of DANTES, a Defense Department agency, said in a news release.
In MyVolEdPath, service members can answer a few questions to help identify their education and career goals, which the app will use to generate information about specific programs that may be of interest. Users will also have access to other resources, including tutorial videos, podcasts, education news and a guide to help connect them with education professionals.
"Based on the member's input, the app will quickly assess and generate recommended programs to help them complete a college degree, prepare for career transition, or simply introduce them to no-cost DoD programs that can save both time and money," Allen said.
MyVolEdPath is available for free download on iTunes, Google Play or online.
