ST. IGNACE, Mich. — A winner of “The Biggest Loser” TV show is scheduled to run in the first Fall Colors Bridge Race over the span that connects Michigan’s Upper and Lower peninsulas.
The five-mile race Oct. 10 will start in St. Ignace, cross the Mackinac Bridge and end in Mackinaw City.
The state says participants will include “Biggest Loser” winner Helen Phillips of Sterling Heights, as well as other show participants.
Phillips won the NBC show’s contest in May by losing 140 pounds.
Officials say participants must be able to run a mile in 12 minutes or less and must register by Oct. 1 at 800-751-0160 or 800-338-6660. A spring race across the bridge has taken place for several years.
