 I am currently in the Navy. I'm stationed at Nuclear Power Training Command in Charleston, South Carolina. I put in for an IA (individual augmentee) to go to iraq and got denied. I now want to be in a combat oriented branch (marines) but still want the schooling i get for nuclear power plant operator. I'm afraid that they won't let me switch when i'm done with my schooling because they spent so much money on me already. I wouldn't mind spending a few years in the fleet as a nuclear power plant operator. I'm afraid when i'm done with school i'll have to finish my 6 years as a nuke. Any facts on how to be a nuke, and switch to the marines? All in 6 years?

You may want to contact your local Marine Corps Recruiter.
