It was funny to read some of the negative reactions in the Stars and Stripes to this from the political correctness patrol/religious zelots. They acted like the military was going to issue each service member a calender prior to deployment.

I agree that it is a nice idea, but I also think that is disgraces our uniform. Many men and women give up lot of their freedom for what these uniforms represent; and this woman cheepens it with this calander being in mass publication. I know that I have done similar types of photos in my own uniform (for one of my ex-b/f's) but it he was under strict instructions that it not get out into the public domain. So let's just keep real military items out of sexy/sexuallu provacitive media forms before they go to the next level and cut up actual flags for this type of entertainment as well.

Considering the very stringent pornography laws in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan, I will be surprised if Soldiers are even allowed to display her calendars.

There are many beautiful women who model and who happen to be married, too. I think most men would be proud of having a gorgeous wife who is a successful businesswoman and model. I had a friend that was married to an 'exotic dancer." He used to joke that all those "tips" she collected paid for HIS beer.

Model, actress, and professional airhead Carmen Elektra once posed for a subscription ad in Maxim magazine wearing a white bikini and a camo patrol cap. Pinned to her bikini bottom was a silver star and a purple heart. I found it so disgraceful that I emailed Maxim magazine editors and Ms. Elektra but never received a response. Wearing military 'gear' that anyone can buy in a pawn shop or Army surplus store is one thing, wearing unearned decorations is another.

What does modeling for a calendar or buying a calendar have to do with sex drives? This is just the modern version of the pin-up girls (like Betty Grable) that were popular in WWII. And that was some sexy stuff for its time. You could practically see Betty's cheeks in those posters!

I agree with Jodie about the pin-ups. Those were marketed to men who needed a tangible reminder of why they were away from home, and what they were fighting for. It was something that got them back to their locker at the end of the day.

I'm also going to go out on a limb here. I'm a female, but she IS hot. And from reading what's up on her website, she is VERY intelligent. Fluidly bi-lingual at the age of 12? She seems to me to be a positive influence and role model. She does not appear to be sickly-skinny, she has a brain in her head, she exercises (more of us should), and she's donating most of the profits to wounded warrior funds.

Given that the alternative is a Playboy pinup (whose proceeds do NOT go to charity, and whose models are much younger and skinnier) or a Maxim centerfold with fake medals, I'm thinking I support this lady completely.

So in your opinion a civilian wearing lingere disgraces our uniform? It never said she wore a uniform just military items. There are kids that run around in little uniforms all the time...big deal. A chick posing in a flak jacket is not a disgrace to the uniform..IMHO
