full time guard or active duty

I am a member of the 108th sfs. I want to know how would i go about going full-time air guard and If i wanted to go from guard to active duty?

I'd start with talking to a recruiter... they'd have the best & most curent info on what programs are available.

As far as AD/Full Time Guard, I guess that' would depend on if you want to stay in your area, or move.

Can't imagine they'd say no to a trained and ready to deploy cop... lol

I guess I should talk to a recruiter to get info about going guard to active and ill ask a nco in my unit how to do full-time guard. I dont know what I want to do yet. I know one thing I miss doing the air force every day

If you still have portal access, you can search for AGR and the Reserve lists AGR positions availible and how to apply.

Below are the current slots for Prior Service who want to come back on active duty:

- 1C2X1 (Combat Control) (3) - 1T0X1 (Survival, Evasion, Resist, and Escape Ops) (7)
- 1T2X1 (Pararescue) (2) - 3E8X1 (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) (3)
- 1C431 (TACP) (2) - 8R000 (Recruiter) (30), see attach 2, item 3
- 3P031B (Combat Arms) (20) - 6C0X1 (Contracting) (30)
- 1U031 (RPA Sensor Operator) (5)

If you can get onto the Portal, search for "Air Force Recruiting Service," mouse-over Publications, then Procedural Guidance Messages (PGMs), and click "900 - Prior Service." Check the first two documents on that page for your AFSC eligibility.

If you want to come back on active duty, you'll need to work through your local active duty recruiter like any new recruit would. It's a crap chute of a process, but persistence will get you there.
