Hi,

Right now my paperwork is submitted to the Air Force Nursing Board for consideration for acceptance in the Air Force as a nurse. Everything in my packet is good, my only concern is that my hearing was a H3. I barely missed being a H2. I hear perfectly fine in normal conversation, I just can't hear the little low toned beeps on the hearing test.

My question, did anyone here ever receive a waiver for hearing in the Air Force, especially any Air Force Nurses? If so, what was the process and how long did it take. Is it possible for me to be accepted even though my hearing was a "3"?

If accepted I will be a career nurse, of that I have no doubt. I won't separate until they force me to retire!

I guess my question is to you, I just went through meps and had the exact same situation. I see you posted that two months ago and just wanted to know if your waiver was accepted for your H3 hearing, if so what jobs were you told you could'nt do and if not what steps were you told to do to get in. Please write back i look forward to your response

Does anyone know how many fully clinically qualified RN applicants have applied already to the Jan 2010 boards? If there are more applications submitted than there is room for, I am thinking of not submitting my application and wait till next time? Please answer this post for me, as I am freaking out and can't stop thinking about my chances.

Interesting note is that an H3 at MEPS is an H4 for the AF and a DQ so unless your recruiter already brought it up...might want to keep quiet (no pun intended)...
