I grew up with rheumatoid arthritis and have had both of my hips replaced. I am currently running marathon's a do other activities such as strength training among other things. I feel that I am physically capable of making it through OCS. I just graduated college. I am heavily considering joining if possible. What are the chances of the marines accepting me into OCS with all the physical history?

I would say slim to none. I could be wrong but I doubt that any branch would take you becasue of the condition.
It is a shame but it is just my opinion

I agree but dont let that stop you from trying, Army is probably your best bet chance - Ask them all all they can say is no.

What about the Air Force. How hard is it to sit in a chair? Also, you can take your PFT (whatever the AF calls their fitness test) on a bike or treadmill.
GOOD LUCK.

I was medically retired in 2006 after 8 years in the Marine Corps after receiving a total hip replacement. I could still pass the PFT but was found unfit for duty by the medical board. I then received a disability rating of 70% from the VA because of it.

Nah...AF has really stringent requirements now days - they are second to the Corps. Try the Army. I think the Army is the only branch who will take you. Good luck!

Thanks for the correction and I now stand corrected.
