Get your cover a little wet but not soaked. Then, spray hair spray on the interior of the cover and put it on a block to dry. Tighten the block to press out on the cover well. When it dries, it will be squared away for a long time. It will begin to collapse in the rain or extreme humidity - in which case, do it again.

They dont sell cover blocks at the PX/BX? I use to use that back in the day and heavy starched it. But that was with the BDU cammies. I dont know if starch is allowed on your MARPATs

I really hope we don't see Marines begin starching their covers for wear. It specifically states no starch on the uniform, kind of like the original rules with the old cammies we had prior to the MARPAT. However, desk jockies and "lambs" who needed to appear squared away and hard, ruined our "work" uniform and made it into a dress uniform.

Anyway, as CombatVet said, use a cover block immediately after taking your cover out of the washing machine, or sink if you wash them by hand. Place it on the cover block and let it hang and dry that way. It will dry and look good, and you don't have to even waste your time with starch which you shouldn't be using anyway.

On a side note, I've heard some younger SNCO's and NCO's talking about pressing and starching their cammies for a more squared away appearance. We need to stop this silliness before it starts again...if you want to look that sharp, wear your chucks, let the work uniform remain the work uniform.

lol Roger. Well in the movie, they told the Marine, "did you ever get to see COMBAT?" and he ended up having his share of caca. I wonder if the AF CC got the mile eye stare lol.

Funny. Was an 0311 and saw nothing!!! Am now an AF 3N and saw plenty --- things that make you go "hum?"

After you wash your cover, stick either a skivvy shirt or small towell where your head goes. As it dries, it will retain it's upright shape so it doesn't sag.

One of the Marines i talk to watered down gorilla glue and sprayed the inside of his cover. When it dries the color will be slightly darker, but its stiff as a board. just make sure you brace the inside walls so that it doesnt put any wrinkles in it as it dries.

You do realize that is impossible since gorilla glue is water resistant right? Says it right on the bottle.

Thats what i said, however he swears up and down that hot water (close to boiling) will thin it to the point that it can be sprayed on. i havent tried it yet myself, and i really dont plan too. ill just iron my cover and be done.

LOL, maybe it's not 100% waterproof at boiling hot.
