I am 41 and am joining the army, I have a GED, 400 hours of trade school with a diploma, 14 year experience as an operations manager for a chemical manufacturing company and fish and lobster company. Can a recruiter get me in at least as an E3 or will I still have to start at E1? Thanks guys.

41?!?
Didn't know the Army was hurting for folks THAT bad (nothing personal)
I know you can come in at a higher grade with a 2-year degree... not sure what credit you might get for trade school & experience.
Good luck!

Reference Army Regulation 601-210....in there, you will find out the requirements for enlisting as an E-3 / PFC. (paragraph 2-18)

The army raised their max age to 42.
As far as the E-3 question, it depends if you got college credit for the classes. Why exactly are you not asking your recruiter?
