TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Indiana National Guard has given an armory in Terre Haute to Indiana State University.
The Ninth Street Armory sits on almost half an acre on the ISU campus.
The Guard’s adjutant general, Maj. Gen. Martin Umbarger, handed the keys to the building to ISU President Dan Bradley in a transfer ceremony Thursday.
Bradley says it’s not known yet how the university will use the armory.
The armory, dedicated in 1935, is among seven Guard facilities around the state that have closed over the past two years.
The Guard has another armory in the city.
