I am a mobilized reservist E-6 who applied and was approved for direct commission. I will be commissioned once I come off my mobilization in August.
I am wondering - as a reservist will I attend BOLC right away or does it take some time to get a slot? I believe that I attend BOLC phase 1 & 2 back-to-back and then phase 3 (transportation branch) at Ft. Eustis when a slot becomes available.
Currently my selection is as a reserve officer however I believe that I'm going to switch back to active duty. Is that difficult or, because of officer shortages, will that be pretty easy?
Just looking for some insight from those who have traveled this path in recent years.
