HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — After Hurricane Katrina smashed into the Gulf Coast, it seemed hard to tell at times just who was in charge.

Top Army and National Guard officials want to make sure that never happens again. That will be the topic this week at the National Guard Bureau’s National Hurricane Workshop on Hilton Head Island.

Those officials are meeting with their counterparts from the Coast Guard, Air Force, FEMA as well as emergency officials from 27 states along the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Seaboard.

The idea is to make sure everyone is on the same page in planning for storms and recovering from them. The effort is being called “One Team, One Fight.”

 Did they get permission from the Air Force to use their catch phrase, One Team, One Fight? Wouldn't imagine they would come up with anything original...

Government agencies actually work together and not against each other...HA! Someone has a great sense of humor...I know I am laughing... :D

Here is a crazy concept...personal responsibility. I know I am not going to rely on any government entity to protect my life; no one loves me more than me. :D

I think that's pretty much the outlook we all have to take on it. Government bailouts and assistance is for car manufacturers, banks, and welfare, so we best be looking to ourselves in times of crisis :D
