Im 15 years old and I know for a fact that I'm going to join the marines. I really need advice on training before bootcamp because I hear that bootcamp is torture for many of those who are out of shape.
Basically what I can do is:
1. 25 push-ups
2. 40 sit-ups
3. 6 pull-ups
4. 8 minute mile
I weight 142 pounds and I am 5'8". I consider myself below average because I do not have alot of muscle and have a bit of fat.
Can anyone please tell me what to improve on and what to do to improve it.
My brother is going to bootcamp in a month and will give me advice in 3 months, but I cannot wait that long to start training.

Dude your times are good, i just got back from bootcamp and people there cant do run the mile in 8 mins or do 20 sit ups when then they get there. just stay on the path you are on and you will be fine.

3 pull ups
44 sit ups
13:30 1 mile and a half
these are what you need to get in the marines to start out

If u want to make the physical aspect of it very easy start running for 4 miles and not one mile, and do pull ups and crunches every other day(try and strive for 100 crunches in 2 mins). We are only tested on a 3 miles aspect but training on 4 miles will make that 3 mile test very easy. Before I joined I could barley run a mile with out having to stop for a break haha so I was running my ass off before I went in and now I’m running a 20min 3 mile. Also grab ur self a back pack and put like 50 lbs in it and go for a mile hike, get ur shoulders used to weight being on them.

You can't join for three years yet. You can wait another three months for your brother to get out of bootcamp. He is probably going to give you the best advice you can get. Also, as mentioned earlier, get used to having lots of weight on your shoulders. If there was one piece of advice I wish someone would have told me before I went to boot camp it would be that.
