Soldiers who are enrolled in the Married Army Couples program can now post additional assignment preference information in ASK, the online Assignment Satisfaction Key.
Personnel officials said the information can be used by commanders when they schedule soldiers for deployment.
Under a recent change to the automated assignment preference system, married Army couples can indicate a preference for simultaneous deployment cycles.
Preference data for married Army couples can be entered in the “Joint Deployment Indicator Code” dropbox of ASK.
Soldiers who select “yes” are indicating they want to deploy within the same deployment cycle.
A “no” selection indicates the couple have asked not to be placed on the same deployment cycle.
An “X” indicates no decision has been made on joint deployment.
