CONCORD, N.H. — The New Hampshire National Guard is honoring Maj. Gen. Kenneth Clark, who is retiring after a 40-year career.

A ceremony is planned for Saturday at 10 a.m. in Concord.

Clark, who announced his resignation in January, started his career as a pilot in the guard and has spent the last four years as the adjutant general of New Hampshire.

He presided over deployments to support combat and air-refueling missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and providing aid to victims of the Gulf Coast hurricanes. Guardsmen also responded to four state-related emergencies, including the December ice storm.
