He comes back from his "i suck at PT" class...apparently they have a PT guy, a mental health person, a nutritionist..all these folks come in and talk about why you suck.

Well get this...the exercise guy and the mental health person told the class...DO NOT take the PT test if you know you cannot pass....as in Refuse..as in when you fill out that questionaire..just mark something that makes you ineligable....that got me thinking..

DISCLAIMER: I am in NO WAY endorsing this

What if...the "people" revolvted against the PT test...wouldnt even require much coordination...an unofficial "check yes to everything month" on the PT questionaire"

have you had any chest pains (YES) (GO TO DOCTOR NOW)

would be funny....i laughed at the thought.

I thought it would be funny if half of the air force failed by just going out there and not going all out. What if half the air force failed? Would they kick half out. The HAWC would be overwhelmed. Personally I think it would be hilarious.

If a person can't pass the PT test then they don't belong in the military.

This PT test is a joke.

If you can't pass it, you need to do some soul searching.

Then a whole bunch of ppl would get paperwork and PT tested over and over again...

This is very true. Only half of the Air Force would have the balls to not test. The other half would be writing paperwork on those of us who did not test. It would be hilarious though

Technically it's mutiny. I don't hate the PT test anyway. I just hate how some folks have taken it and made it this big thing when in a grand scheme of things I think it should warrant about as much attention as our annual Force Protection CBT.

Exactly Bruwin. It would be mutiny. I think the barracks lawyers need to chill out and focus on actually passing the stupid test. Its not like the damn thing is even difficult to pass. Get a life people. Grow up aand find something worthwhile to bitch about.

True, but if everyone just checked the "yes there is a medical condition, blah blah blah" on the questinaire..they can't force you test...so technically, your not refusing...just looking out for your health/safety.

For those who say "This PT Test is a joke and you suck if you can't pass it"

Please say that to the thousands out there who can't pass it without a "good ol boy" cheating for him. No its not hard at all, but there is obviously an issue when there are still fatties in the Air Force.

In January, we are required to test twice a year, does everybody have to test in January, or are they going to delay it to your birth month, like they tried from the begining?

im going to try and test in my birth month anyway. right now I test in December, which isnt bad since im in AZ. 6 months from then is June though, not so good. Going to try for a spring and fall test cycle, so no matter where i'm stationed i won't have to worry about the weather affecting my run.

...unless you have to test prior to a deployment when you test month comes due while you are in the desert.

I don't think the PT test is the most accurate method of gauging fitness, by any means, but I do think it's decent and a lot better than it was with that ridiculous bike test.

I personally have to work hard to pass the test, not because I have a big waist (I'm a 34.5, pretty consistently) but because I have to really try hard to run the mile and a half in 12:30 or less. I just am not a good distance runner and never have been. If I ramp up and run often in the months leading up to the test it becomes easier on test day to make that time but beyond knocking maybe 30 seconds off it doesn't drastically improve my time.

So I will never be in the 90 or above crowd... but so long as being in the "above 75 crowd" is ok, then so am I.

Don't ever let the lettuce nibblers hear you say that....you'll never get into their "in" crowd.

Seems like there is a rule somewhere about making false official statements and malingering...I'm sure one of those would cover this situation.

Anyone have any suggestions on the Ergo test?? Due to a foot surgery recently they won't let me run but I can do the ergo test. I can max out push ups and sit ups and can do a decent run when not recovering from foot surgery. But everytime I have Ergo tested I have not done well. Even back in the day when I was running, playing soccer, taking several Martial Arts classes a week as well as several Cardio classes. I don't drink and I don't smoke. Hmmm maybe that is the problem since I know several people who smoke like a chimney and have no problems with the Ergo. Ok seriously any advice would be great.
