How is Ft Meade? They say it's a real nice place compared to the others. How are living quarters on base, if you are doing job training there? Do you have your own room? How much space? Is it easy to go out on weekends with out a car? what about weekdays? i'm thinking about joining army reserve. they say a unit will get activated every 3-5 years. not any sooner. is that true? also they say you'll be activated for one year at a time. is that true?? is the 25M job (multimedia illustrator) any good? Can they make me work in infantry if they need me? thanks Any questions you can answer would be much appreciated.

If you are trying to go into the Reserves, why so concerned about the living conditions on Fort Meade? If you join the reserves, you will be living exactly where you live now.
The Army is trying to deploy reserve units no more than once every 4-6 years on average. Key word: "on average". You and your particular unit may never deploy during your entire six year contract; or you may deploy up to three times during that time. If the Army comes a callin' on your unit, you will deploy.
Any MOS is only as good as it is a fit for you. A word of warning though: all MOSs include functions that at times may closely resemble the infantry in that all soldiers are required to be able to shoot, move, and communicate. You may, and likely will, be asked to be a gunner in a convey, secure a perimeter during a cordon and search, ect. And no, you will not be drawing pictures during those operations.

Because I'm doing my 25 M training at Ft. Meade. the recruiters say it's a great place to train. They need troops now. Why not deploy every unit in Reserves then? Wouldn't all reserve units get deployed in the next year or so?
