NG recruiting question

I've been told that because of my back surgery and having hardware that there is a very unlikely chance i would get into any of the other branches for the fear of that if i hurt myself ill file a lawsuit on the government so i was advised to not waste my time. Having another surgery to remove my hardware is not a route i want to take because it is stronger with it it, it doesnt bother me, and i dont have that kind of money to fork out for an unnecessary surgery. Do the med rules apply to the NG with it being state owned and how does that work?

Guard isn't state "owned." Guard has state AND Federal obligations.... It would still be MEPS' call. retained hardware is almost always a no-go.
