So here was my random thought during my 4-mile sweat this morning...

If our PT program sucked for the first several years (and some argue it does to this day), with very few units having organized fitness or taking it seriously, and the AF Audit Agency found that the assessments and reporting sucked and confidence in the accuracy of what was being recorded was nil, then how about we shit-can the historical data in AFFMS? With no buy-in to the program for the first couple years, followed-up by rampant "hook-ups" skewing the data, the result is those who got the hook-up and have no record of failing are good to go, while those who were held to the standard have "black marks" on their history, which may prevent them from being considered for jobs where that may be important later in their career... such as Command Chief or other CIP positions.

Yes, we could easily argue the same point about EPRS... but that is something with a bit larger impact. Not sure how far your AFFMS history goes back, but my first record is '04. Maybe if the new AFI does move us in the right direction, in a year or two the rules could be changed to mask the history, and only show the last 5 years?

Just wanted to throw that out there for discussion.

For the record, I have never failed, OR gotten hooked up.

So here was my random thought during my 4-mile sweat this morning...

My random thought as I was leading PT this morning was "Hey, I PCS in about 10 months. I wonder if I can get out of PTL/UFPM duties or if I will get tagged for it at three bases in a row."

Maybe if the new AFI does move us in the right direction, in a year or two the rules could be changed to mask the history, and only show the last 5 years?

I think that is actually a great idea. Right now, AFFMS shows your entire history. The first guy I tested in early '04 scored in the 30s. A year later, he turned it around and was in the mid 80s. It would be horrible if he was penalized in a few years for his early performance.

So there is... <doh>

wonder when they created that  lol

Nice attempt to compartmentalize the board... but it would seem to make more sense to allow service specific PT issues to be posted in the service folder, instead of a generic PT folder... but it ain't my board, so I guess my opinion don't matter. :D

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. I can see that whole section degenerating, with every thread ending in multiple services having d#ck-waving contests about whose PT is more badass.
