Outside of any mandatory PT that you do, do you PT on your own?
If you do, how often?
If you do not PT on your own, why not?
We don't have madatory PT at my current office so I PT on my own everyday. I do get time during the day to go though.

I PT on my own because my flight doesn't do the mandatory 3 times per week during durty hours.

usually around 5 times a week.. however, if people put out during the 3 times a week it should be sufficient for the average person.
No mandatory time at work, so I go when I can at work, and after when necessary.

I PT during duty hours 5 days/week. Our duty time is flexible because each person in my detachment does a different job and holds a different schedule. (i.e. if you have a schedule conflict in the morning you can PT during lunch or in the afternoon.) The "big boy" rules seem to work for us, but we don't have any junior enlisted here either.
P.S. They took out the part in the AFI where commanders must provide duty time three days per week. The reason they did that is so when Joe Fatboy fails his test, he can't claim it was because he didn't get to participate in scheduled PT. As I understand it, PT can be completely outside of your duty schedule, but still mandatory...even though they don't have to give you the time.

Sure do. Walk three miles a day with my Blue Heeler in the mountains. Snow shoe when necessary! Chop and split wood in the morning or evening. And then so any rank work necessary, fence repair, tractor repair, and dog care.
Then the wife will have a homemade soup with garden veggies and homemade bread.
Now this is my off days when I'm not flying for USFS.....

Yes I PT on my own, but unit also tells me to take the time and do it. Thats my careerfield as a whole though. Even if I did SQ PT which there arent many of us in a SQ, but I would still do extra on my own.

I work with Air Force and at first there were no mandatory PT days...then it was one day because AF failed PT test...then it was two days because a couple of us Army failed...then it was one again when we passed..now it's 3 days mandatory because most of the AF failed the PT test (I think before the new PT test). I try to do as much on my own as I can but I'm honestly freakin lazy. I have no motivation in this unit and I constantly have to motivate myself because this place is sham city and I've gained weight. I don't like the way I look so I'm trying to get back in shape but it's hard to do for me anyway. I need someone to do PT with to push me because when I do it by myself I just theres nothing to make me work harder or gauge myself.

i personally like to PT on my own. It seems that when I am stuck with the flight/squadron its forced and the heart is just not in it. Now that is the case for me, I know that there are many others that will not pt otherwise

I'm absolutely terrible at this. I have to have some kind of *peer pressure* to actually go out and exercise. If just left to my own devices like the job I'm at now, it just doesn't happen.

We have a fairly small attachment with a pretty large workload, so unit PT doesn't happen as often as it should. And it sucks because a few of us really struggle. So, a shift that is supposed to last 8-9 hours usually gets extended to about 11-12 hours after PTing in the hangar out here. Usually PT 4-5 times a week. It sucks, but things could be worse.

not only do i PT the required 3 hours a week as per the CG requirements, i also do MMA training 4 days a week as well and according to the CG im still obese, yet i blow everyone out of the water on the pushups, situps, 1.5mi run...and i weigh 230 and am supposed to be 180.....lol....everyone seems to think that if someone has a nice body they are in shape....well thats garbage cause im here to tell you that you dont need to have a perfect body to be in shape, most of these guys cant hang with me and im fine with that.....

I PT on my own 5 days a week. Unit PT is frankly, worthless.
