Less could be more popular with the new Air Force running shorts.
The new shorter running shorts debuted Friday at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, just in time for runners to wear them during the Air Force Marathon on Sept. 19 at the base.
The service expects the shorts to begin to arrive at other Army Air Force Exchange Service military clothing stores by mid-September.
The running shorts don’t replace the standard physical training shorts now worn by airmen. The running shorts were added to the PT uniform after airmen complained the standard shorts chafed too much on runs.
The shorts retail for $16.95 and come in sizes extra small to extra extra large.
