For males, a law enforcement job in any service will be hard to get, just like a medical job will always be hard for females to get; because everyone of the respective gender wants those jobs.

Also, the Marine Corps is "civilianizing" that MOS, so eventually, there will only be Field MP's, I'm not sure what the other branches are doing though

And along with what everyone else posted... keep in mind that the recruiters need to try and fill up quotas for other MOS’s so if they know u really want to join they will try and say other things are full just to push u into a diff MOS… what ever u do, do exactly what u want, don’t go and throw 4 yrs away on something u don’t want to do. Make sure they know that u want to be an MP or u will wait for them to have a spot open.

Wow...thats news to me. 8 out of 10 people who already know what job they want, (MP, Intel, Linguist, Recon, Avaiation, etc,) are disqualified for it. The applicants pick the jobs they want based on whats available and what they are qualified for, not the recruiters.

SF is probably THE easiest to get in the Air Force.
If you go in Open General...you got a real good chance of being a cop.

Absoletely 100% FALSE. I was a MEPS classifier. Yes, we have jobs that we have to "sell," but if they don't want it, then we try to give them what they want. We actually get in trouble if we get too many people who walk away - so if we tell them that a job isn't available, then it isn't.
By the way, I wouldn't tell someone to "take ONLY the job you want, or walk." Truth is, the vast majority of people looking to join the military work at McDonald's, Target, 7-Eleven, or don't have a job at all.
If I don't have law enforcement, but I offer you a job as an aircraft mechanic, you'd be an idiot to turn it down in favor of continuing your job behind the cash register.
