First, Civil Affairs is listed as a career branch by the the research I've done and was among the possible areas my Army recruiter mentioned as options today when we were going over the career list and the form I would eventually fill out setting my career preferences. However, at goarmy.com the Civil Affairs Officer (http://www.goarmy.com/JobDetail.do?id=302) position is listed as only Army Reserve and "not an entry-level position", this seems to conflict with it being listed as a preference on an enlistment form. Can anybody shed light on where my reasoning has gone wrong or if the goarmy.com job listing is simply incorrect?

Second, PSYOP (Psychological Operations) is listed as a functional area by the research I've done and is not among the possible areas my recruiter mentioned today. Which makes sense, as I'd attempt to join this specialized field in my 5th or 6th years of service, by my understanding of functional areas. What doesn't seem to make sense is that on goarmy.com PSYOP Officer (http://www.goarmy.com/JobDetail.do?id=309) is not listed with any special notice of "not an entry level position" or anything else that I have seen. Again, where has my understanding potentially failed. Can I get into this field as a green-horn 2nd Lt.? Is the job listing on goarmy.com lacking vital information?

Note: http://usmilitary.about.com/ has become my primary source for research, since it backs up most information posted with a .pdf of the Army regulations. So I'm getting most of my information on this from this page (http://usmilitary.about.com/od/officerjob1/l/blaroffjobs.htm).

Thank you in advance for any help someone may be able to provide.
