Air Force Specialty Codes Recruiting Chances

I know someone that has entered the DEP back in the summer. At the MEPS they were only required to select five AFSCs and was not asked to pick an AA. What are the chances of this person getting one of the jobs they selected before their DEP anniversary?

They Are:

2M0X1 - Missle & Space Systems Electrical Maintenance

2M0X2 - Missle & Space Systems Maintenance

2M0X3 - Missle & Space Facilities

2A5X1 - Aerospace Maintenance


Should they consider taking an AA or an alternate AFSC as soon as one is offered? Should they hold out for one of the AFSCs they selected? What other AFSCs should they consider that might get them in to BMT sooner?

I assume by AA you mean Aptitude Area? If that is their list, chances are they are going to be a crew chief on heavies (2A5X1).

2A5X1 is the third largest career field on the enlisted side. It is not bad, there are quite a few bases he/she can get stationed. And many different airframes they can work on.
I have met few crew cheifs that didn't like it. And most of them crosstrained into aircrew positions.
But I may be a little biased on the issue.
