Just got back from commanders call. According to him, the current PT standards have been extended to 1 June. Anybody heard the same?

Yep, it's official...except the new standards will go into effect 1 July 2010. The "twice-a-year" testing still starts in January, though.
EDIT: Source is HAF/A1.

Which leaves enough time for another adjustment to policy...wait and see...

Any link to official information regarding this? Why is it us the people in the Air Force can move information faster than the "Air Force"?

I do suspect this is the reason... They realized they botched this one too based on all of these people calculating what the failures would be based on the new policy.

Wonderful. We're still going to worship this golden calf regardless I see.
HEY AIR FORCE LEADERSHIP - JUST MAKE MANDATORY TESTING A QUARTERLY REQUIREMENT, AS PART OF OUR RSV TRAINING. THAT WAY YOU CAN ALL JUSTIFY YOUR EPR/OPR RATINGS AND GIVE YOURSELVES THE ILLUSION THAT YOU'VE MADE THE AIR FORCE BETTER AND THE WORLD A SAFER PLACE.

II just want to know why the leadership thinks that by extending the current standards 6 months is going to make it any better. We have all had the standards for 6 months.. We all should have been working on passing with the new standards..
I have been looking forward to seeing how many people were going to fail with the outrageous PT standards. I have to say to do away with mandatory PT and then to push back the date of implantation for scoring 6 months just goes to show how many people can't pass this PT program.. I have to ask which of the leadership didn't pass it…My bet is the pushups for the women and the sit ups for the men but it could just be the waist in general for all..
I guess I will have to continue to wait to see all those that think that they will pass- Fail and have to do the AF 1975's and attend all the PT classes and work out with the rest of us.. OH well good thing I am close to retirement.

This pissed me off because well it fucks me over. With the new standards i am scoring an 80. With the current standards my 80 is a 75. So my next test is in March 10 and i have to test with the old std. They say that they will give you the results of both and the old school is the one that counts. Because my weak spot on the test is the waist size 37.

The AF can't make up its mind what it wants to do. As a reservist we are going to spend an entire UTA (timewise) testing twice per year when we really need that extra time for training.
