Can anyone give me the exact decibel levels for a military M4 Carbine and an AK-47?

How loud is the high velocity, high pressure 5.56X45 NATO and the slower, low pressure 7.62X39?

Do you have anything on the AK-47? How does that compare to the M4?

From what I have read the AK-47 is slightly louder than the M4 but not by much. The M16 does around 155-157 dB and the AK-47 does 159 dB I think. The M249 SAW does 160 dB.

This one maybe loud, but not at 2200 yards....

http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn63-e.htm

3 shots within 22 inches at 2200 yards...well below the MOA....

Is the sharper high velocity crack of the 5.56 louder at a distance than the 7.62x39?

All of Baltar’s threads have to do with rifle and ammunition sounds at a distance. Click his name and see the threads he’s created. He’s either a future Lee Harvey Oswald/MAJ Hasan or someone that really needs to get a life.

Either way, let’s stop entertaining this guy’s inquiries.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he's all that. I find it odd that he could get the information much more easily and quickly off google than in here and doesn't choose to though.
