After reading the last few issues of the Army Times, I have realized that the writers either lack creativity or initiative (or they just suck). What are some topics that you guys think the Army Times SHOULD write stories about?

Geez, where do we start? the whole "ditch the ACU's for Blues" topic is a doozie. We have to decide between one god awful mistake of a uniform and another uniform that looks like someone threw "chilis flare" at a once professional looking uniform. Can we get some sort of professionalism back to the service and stop using the war as a scape goat for our laziness? how is it the rest of the services can handle it and we can't?.

It's also about time someone did something about the gross misuse of logistics in the war zones, to tell someone they lost their son or daughter in combat because they were guarding a convoy full of hamburger patties for the tubbos hanging out at the burger king in theater is disgusting to say the least. They're willing to walk their fat *blank plural word* to the BK hut, but god forbid u tell them to do one hour of pt to stay in shape in theater and then they raise the red flags and cry.

Theres a lot more I have to gripe about, but the bottom line is we've let ourselves go as an army these past few years, and forgot that wars do end eventually, and the need for soldiers is going to be reduced eventually, so to say the least, start to prep those underachievers for their eventual release because enough is enough, Its bad enough our leadership is making us look like clowns on a daily basis with these "awesome ideas" but to continue to allow soldiers that look like garbage to serve and make it through the ranks without displaying themselves as true representatives of the US is something that needs to stop. I don't know, just my opinion....

One thing that I think would be cool is if there was a column dedicated to
"The way it was ----- The way it is ----- The way it should be". Sort of like that column that has the issue, where we stand, and what's to come except this column would be about traditional subjects like the Army's weight control policy or grooming standards, etc., etc. You could throw in some polls about how the Soldiers feel about the subject. I remember back in the day there was a very cool but vocal "back talk" forum leader who lost his job due to Political Correctness. Bring him back and get off your knees Army Times. That was a sad day for the freedom of speech right there. The guy was bold, brash and told it like it was, not how you wanted to hear it. Sell outs!

We could also have a column titled "The craziest shit you ever saw" where people could submit their stories every week then they get voted on (online) and the winner gets a new car or something. :)

A new car might be a reach...lol. They might go for a free subscription to the Times though...

I finally thought of 2:

1. The increase in overweight Soldiers in the Army.
2. A follow up on that Soldier that went missing in Afghanistan. What happened to him?
