Islam isn't a god at all. It is a religion. It is a religion that worships a god that is essentially the same god as that worshiped by jews and christians. Yeah they changed the name...just as christians did when they wanted to separate themselves from the jewish faith. All three believe they are decendants of Abraham. Hell Muslims even believe Jesus was a holy man. They just disagree with christians as to how holy he was-prophet vs. son of god.

I honestly don't know where they were at. I mean why the heck did it take an OUT SIDE cop to drop this POS, rather than the bases own security forces.

I assume that since they caught one guy, he would have been chanting to allah if it had been an islamic terrorism job.

Eye witnesses to his shooting did say he was chanting "Aluaha Ackbar"...

Latest info is that the shooter, that was killed, was an Army Major who was a recent convert to Islam, 40+ in age and had recently voiced his displeasure with having to go to Afghanistan in the near future. Not much info on the two additional "suspects".

All i have heard over the past 2 days is about him, nothing on the other suspected 2.

when will we wake up to these muslim extremists in the military? remember the guy who killed his officers in their tent in iraq? AND now this?

Unfortunately we cannot bar them from serving cause of their religious affiliations. THOUGH if the reports of him 'honoring' suicide bombers is true, it makes me wonder why the heck he was still in. WE kick people out for havin gang tats, so why not for posting stuff on TERRORIST related sites..

You have a good point. I love how we allow these sort of things to happen for fear of offending a violent minority that already hates us.

And what irks the heck out of me is we seem to bend over backwards more and more to NOT offend them cause we don't want them to be violent, but when they ARE, we still do nothing.

Very true. And if he was having hard ships cause of serving due to his religious affiliation etc, he could have asked to get out on a contentious objector status.

Second, this brings us the point of who watches the watchers, in this case mental health. This guy probably had apparent problems and was in distress - how come none of his co-workers - who are trained in this sort of thing - didn't pick up on the signals and get him help? I'm not trying to place blame here, but this is a serious system failure and I would like to see the system change to help prevent this in future. Where can mental health go if they need help?

I wonder if that had to do with people not wanting to show they are weak or 'grass; on others for being weak...

Oh let us not forget now it is reported he had bad evaluation reports (a very GOOD EXAMPLE of why such Soldiers should be released from the Army not held onto and attempts made at "rehabilitation" just so you can keep your damned numbers up Army), openly praised suicide bombers on the net, and related more to his "Muslim brothers" than he did his Army brothers. ALL THESE FLAGS AND YET WE KEEP EM IN just to keep up numbers of healthcare workers so you DON'T HAVE TO DRAFT THEM???

I am actually hoping this is not just a wake up call for the Powers in command, but also that the families of the dead civilians (since we mil cannot sue) take up all those in charge of him FOR NOT doing their job of gettng him out of the mil for his STATED views... Heck his postings on terror sites about how he honors suicide bombers imo should have warranted an automatic Dishonerable discharge.
